Activity: Learning Outcome 2, The 5am Wake- Up

I've never been a morning person. I always thought that I was a night owl, staying up late into the night watching TV or reading a good book. In the mornings it was always a chore to drag myself out of bed, hitting the snooze button on my alarm until my mom called me down telling me that I was late. But since school started, and my workload has become heavier and my days have become longer because of sports and after school activities, I've found that I don't have a lot of time for myself anymore. I was talking about this with my dad, and he suggested I wake up earlier. I thought he was crazy when he first said it, but the more I thought about it the more since it made. I would have more time in the morning to work and not have to deal with the rush of getting out the door after having just got out of bed. The next night I set my clock back to 5:30, and that was the start of my early morning wake-ups. Now I'm waking up around 5:00 every morning, and I've really been enjoying my mornings. It's so much easier to wake up now, and I'm not tired during the day. I've been going to bed around 9:15, and if I don't get all of my work done I'll do it in the morning, and I'll typically feel more focused.
I relate this experience with Learning Outcome 2 because waking up early was a challenge in the beginning, but I've been able to develop skills such as going to bed early, and practicing time management to overcome the night owl I had thought I was.
